Spex

Peripheral shapeable support microcatheters

The Spex microcatheter family includes single-lumen microcatheters featuring a shapeable distal segment, providing high support and excellent fluoroscopic visibility for use during the treatment of peripheral arterial disease.

Each microcatheter incorporates a braided metal reinforcement to ensure structural strength, while a hydrophilic coating on the distal portion of the shaft provides excellent lubricity.

Thanks to the device’s design features and the use of the stylet supplied with the device, the distal tip of the microcatheter can be easily shaped by the operator. The resulting curvature remains stable even during long and complex procedures.

The range includes the standard version, Spex 35, which is shapeable over the distal 19 mm, and the Low Profile (LP) version, which is shapeable over the distal 100 mm.

It is compatible with the following guidewires:
• 0.035” (Spex 35 and Spex LP 35)
• 0.018” (Spex LP 18)
• 0.014” (Spex LP 14)

Depending on the model, the device can be used with 4 Fr or 5 Fr introducers.
